REAL Values:
Nahe believes that respect starts with being mindful of the impact her work has on people and place. She thoughtfully sources wood locally whenever possible, honoring the resources and stories of the materials she uses. As an almost one-woman business, with the support of her family, she values every relationship with clients, collaborators, and the community. She approaches every project with care, integrity, and gratitude, knowing that how she builds is just as important as what she builds.
She is committed to lifelong learning, exploring new wood species, refining traditional and contemporary techniques, and what it means to be a wāhine builder. She also believes that education becomes most meaningful when it is shared, while serving others allows her to create opportunities for learning and inspiration. She is passionate about strengthening the community through craftsmanship, mentorship, and sharing ‘ike for the generations to come.
Adventure to Nahe means saying yes to growth even when it leads to the unknown. Curiosity has taken her from Hawai’i to Oregon, then to Scotland to learn new woodworking techniques and perspectives. Hale O Nahe allows clients to select their desired woods and materials so that each piece is carefully curated. She embraces positive change by remaining open to new ideas, challenging herself, and bringing what she learns back to the community through her work and teachings.
She believes that staying connected to Hawai’i means investing in its people, resources, and future. She contributes by sourcing local materials, supporting other local businesses, and sharing her knowledge. As a wāhine builder, she hopes to inspire others to pursue careers in the trades while creating work that reflects values, craftsmanship, and community that makes Hawai’i home.
