They host community listening sessions in every town, run a kūpuna rides program that connects elderly residents with essential services, and use the platform to educate visitors about Hawai’i’s culture and land through conversations that happen naturally in a shared ride — because they believe the most powerful visitor education happens between a local and a visitor in the car.

Cruise Kaua’i launched with no roadmap, just a belief that the infrastructure for better transportation already existed in our community and needed a platform to connect it; they went viral in 30 days, are in active conversations with the state DOT about a statewide contract, and are building something that has never existed anywhere else in the United States.

Every dollar paid through Cruise Kaua’i goes directly to a local driver, our founder is a 23-year-old resident, and our entire model — from differential pricing that protects locals to our kūpuna and school pool programs — is designed to serve the people who actually live here, not the visitors passing through.
