Our Why
REALives is a community initiative inspired by the thought that behind every screen is a real life.
We know that life in Hawai’i isn’t always sunshine and rainbows; for example, families face unexpected hardships, small businesses navigate difficult seasons, and individuals experience times of need. REALive reminds us that communities become stronger when we choose to show up knowing that support looks different for everyone.
The Supporting Cycle
We believe giving back is more than just monetary contributions and a single act of kindness.
Whenever possible, REALive fulfills requests by purchasing products or services from actively listed REAL members. Like a ripple effect, we hope to create a supportive circle where helping one person also helps another. Depending on the request, support may come in the form of a referral or recommendation to a REAL member.
How it Works
- Any Hawai’i resident may submit a REALives request for consideration.
- Each request is reviewed based on available resources and demand. Please note, we are still a small business relying on personal investments and member support. While we wish we could complete every request, we must keep it sustainable for our operations. We ask that everyone utilize this system with integrity and understanding.
- The system is built around supporting businesses within the REALive community, meaning assistance is limited to the offerings shared within our platform.
- Submitting a request does not guarantee assistance.
Our Goal
We recognize that every business, owner, employee, customer, contributor, visitor, local, and family has their own story. When we build responsibly and support responsibly, we grow in the same manner. And when our communities grow, we create opportunities to support more!
